Dabba Walla backpacks are 12”h x 11”w x 6”d, just the right size for a toddler, and each kids backpack generally has a matching lunch box in many popular themes.
Our quality personalized toddler backpacks are made by both Mint and Stephen Joseph, two very reputable names in the backpack industry. The kid backpacks offered by Mint come in an 8” by 11” size, meaning they’re the perfect size for holding a few diapers, some extra clothes, and maybe even a snack if you think your little one will get hungry while you’re out and about all day. Embroidered name backpacks are also perfect for sending your young ones to daycare or preschool or kindergarten, as they probably won’t have much in the way of homework or paperwork to bring home to mom each day. The bigger backpacks that Mint offers, which are ideal for elementary aged children, are a big bigger at 15” by 13.5.” These backpacks are capable of holding books, whereas the toddler backpacks are not. Each of the styles offered by Mint come in a sturdy nylon finish, and the toddler backpacks come in a seersucker fabric in different checkerboard and stripe patterns that are sure to not only be comfortable, but also cute on the back of your little one.
In contrast, the kids backpacks offered by Stephen Joseph are a bit bigger than Mint’s backpacks, measure 14” by 12.”Rather than using a nylon finish on the bag, Stephen Joseph instead goes with a quilted cotton approach to cover the entire bag. The cotton makes it extremely easy to clean, as all you have to do is unhinge the front flap and throw it into the washing machine. And with over 40 different designs to choose form in our stock, we’re sure you’ll find exactly the right bag for your toddler.
If you’re interested in sending your little one back to school or daycare in style, you can also check out the matching nap mats, duffle bags, and lunch totes that we have as well. All of our products can be customized, meaning you can put your child’s name on the side of all of their back to school gear so that teachers know whose bag is whose.
Mint’s backpacks are in two sizes: toddler and elementary student. The toddler size at 8”x11” is great for a couple diapers, a change of clothes and a snack. It is the size I used with my two year old boy going to Grandma’s house. It would be a good size for daycare to preschool and kindergarten. The next size up is much bigger at 15”x13.5” and is a great bookbag for kids and toddlers. Both personalized backpacks have matching lunch tote options and come in colorful nylon, seersucker, corduroy and gingham fabrics.
The Stephen Joseph quilted toddler backpacks are slightly larger than the Mint toddler size at 11”x13” and are all-quilted-cotton in construction. The flap secures with a magnetic snap and there are nearly 40 designs in popular themes. There is an even larger line of "premium" Stephen Joseph quilted backpacks that will fill a standard sized folder. The kids quilted knapsacks have matching lunch bags.
Both brands have matching nap mats, lunch totes, and duffle bags, and Stephen Joseph goes a step further with matching water bottles, hats and sunglasses.
It has never been easier to get cute girls monogrammed backpacks for school and finding the matching thread color is easiest of all – simply choose “Match Border” and we will pick the correct thread color! Plus we make the embroidery or monogram nice a big – no cheapskate looking embroidery here – and we use a fill-stitch that won’t snag or come out.
Mint bags, which are slightly smaller than their Stephen Joseph counterpart, are more suited for moms on the go that need a backpack that holds all of their toddler’s gear in one place Not only does it have room for a few diapers and a bottle of water for the afternoon, it can also accommodate Mint’s signature snack square; a miniature lunch box designed to hold a simple snack and a drink for your little one as they make their way through the day at school or while at daycare. The colorful and simple fabrics used on Mint products make them not only great for young ones to bring to school with them, they’re also great for mom’s that don’t want to be embarrassed carrying a Dora the Explorer bag around that’s clearly for their child. And if you’d really like to expand the uses of the bag, you could even try and repurpose it into a mini duffle bag or work tote that can carry a few papers and pens for a quick day at the office. There’s no sense in lugging an entire briefcase to and from work for just a few short hours.

The personalization process is also a breeze when picking out a backpack. A question we get frequently though is how to choose a matching thread color to go with the ribbon or trim already on the chosen design. To eliminate any confusion with how the colors will turn out once the product makes it to your front door, we recommend simply choosing the “Match Border” option on all backpacks instead of trying to pick a color yourself. We’ll match the colors perfectly so that there isn’t any mismatch between the border and trim.
The problem that a lot of our shoppers have before stumbling onto Posy Lane is that they can never find the right type of backpack to either give to their toddler to take to school or to use to carry all of their baby’s supplies around during the afternoon. Mint and Stephen Joseph backpacks do their best to not only provide a functional backpack to moms to carry around things like diapers, snacks, and other miscellaneous things, but also give a cute and fun backpack to the child as well. We know that it can be tough to find a backpack your little one will love to take to school and that it’s sometimes hard to explain to young children why they have to leave home every day to go to school. Cute and personalized backpacks and products from the likes of Mint and Stephen Joseph we hope will help with the transition so that it’s easier to say goodbye in the morning.
“Thank you so much Posy Lane for giving me so many toddler backpack options to choose from. I spent all week last week looking for a cute backpack that my 3 year old would love to carry around with her to and from school (it’s been hard for her leaving me to go to school every day) and came up empty handed after checking all of the major retail outlets. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended you guys to me after she found a duffle bag for herself on here a few weeks ago. I went with a Stephen Joseph backpack for my daughter Terri, and she adores it. It’s tough to pry it away from her to wash it sometimes!”
As a mom, we know that it’s sometimes difficult to find the time to do the laundry, let alone find the time to wash your child’s backpack from all of the dirt and grime that gets on it during a day at school. Luckily, backpacks by Stephen Joseph are made entirely of strong quilted cotton, meaning they won’t only last a while, they’re also extremely easy to wash. All you have to do is unhinge the magnetic front flap so that it doesn’t get tangled in the washing machine, and throw the bag in. That’s it. There aren’t any special instructions, meaning you won’t have to worry about damaging any of the beautiful embroidery work that goes into each and every bag.
